St. Mark’s Coptic Church (Addition/Expansion)

The white, domed church along 79th Street more than doubled in size when it added a new wing called “The Resurrection Church.” St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church of Chicago has its roots here since 1960 when these Orthodox Christians migrated from Egypt and founded a church in Roselle, Illinois. They exist to encourage all people to pursue a lifelong, joyous relationship with Jesus Christ and their history and faith dates back to the time of the apostles when St. Mark the Evangelist came to Egypt to preach Christianity.
